About Calcemitool
Calcemitool is a free calculator library built on one principle: a number is only useful when you can see how it was produced. Every calculator here shows its inputs, its formula and its working.
Why Calcemitool exists
Most online calculators return a single figure and expect you to trust it. That is fine until the figure matters — a repayment you will carry for twenty years, a price that has to cover your costs, a dosage of study time before an exam. At that point you need to know which formula was applied, which assumptions were baked in and where your own numbers went.
Calcemitool publishes 135 calculators across 13 categories, and every one of them exposes the formula, a legend explaining each term, a step-by-step breakdown of the arithmetic and a worked real-world example. If you disagree with the result, you can see exactly where to disagree.
How the calculators are built
Each calculator is a typed definition: its inputs, validation, formula, output shape and explanatory content all live in one place and are checked by the compiler. Calculations run in your browser as pure functions with no network round-trip, which is why results update the instant you type.
Formulas are taken from standard, publicly documented methods — amortisation for loans, compound growth for investments, established population equations for health estimates — and the source method is described in plain English on each page rather than hidden behind the answer.
Privacy is the default, not a setting
Nothing you type is transmitted to a server. Your inputs are held in the page address so a scenario can be bookmarked or shared, and recently viewed calculators are kept in your own browser storage. No accounts, no profiles, no tracking of what you calculate. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Accuracy and its limits
Calculators are checked against worked examples and independent references, but they model arithmetic, not circumstances. Tax rules, lending terms, institutional grading policies and clinical guidance vary by country and change over time. Treat every result as a well-supported estimate and confirm anything consequential with a qualified professional — see the Disclaimer.
How the site is funded
Calcemitool is free to use and carries advertising. Ads are confined to clearly labelled containers with reserved space so they never shift the page or interrupt a calculation, and no ad is ever styled to resemble a result, a button or an input. Ad placement has no influence on which calculators are built or what the guides say.
